Profibus Master Protocol Chip

ASPC2 is a communication chip developed by Siemens for Profibus master stations, supporting both PROFIBUS-DP and PROFIBUS-FMS protocols. The chip enables devices such as PLCs, IPCs, drive controllers, and human-machine interfaces to alleviate the burden of Profibus communication tasks. Its maximum data transfer rate is 12 Mbit/s.

ASPC2 adopts a 100-pin MQFP package. If used in safe applications, an external signal converter is needed to connect to PROFIBUS-PA.

ASPC2 can handle information messages, address codes, and backup data sequences. With related firmware, ASPC2 can support all protocols of PROFIBUS-FMS/DP. ASPC2 can address an external message memory of 1 megabyte. Bus access drive is completed by hardware. ASPC2 requires an independent microprocessor and necessary firmware to work together. ASPC2 can easily connect to all standard types of microprocessors.
